With over 25 years of professional studio practice, Leah Lopez has dedicated her career to both the creation of fine art and the education of artists. She has spent decades teaching drawing and representational oil painting to students of all levels, developing specialized curricula at several prominent art schools and academies.
Central to her teaching philosophy is the concept of the atelier—a term that signifies far more than just a physical workshop. In the classical tradition, an atelier is a living lineage; it is a dedicated space where a master artist passes a profound, unbroken legacy of technical knowledge down to the next generation through ongoing, immersive instruction. It represents a continuous, supportive relationship between mentor and student, ensuring that the hard-won insights of the past remain vibrant and accessible today.
Carrying on this timeless tradition of passing on an artistic legacy, she now brings her expertise to the Woodstock School of Art, where she guides students in mastering the fundamentals of form, structure, and the dramatic interplay of light and shadow.
